Drone data processed with Global Mapper Pro successfully incorporated in Model Maker for irrigation planning
The Global Mapper (GM) Pro version was recently used to extract a point cloud from drone images and to export the data for further processing in Model Maker (MM). The data was used in MM for irrigation planning in the Patensie area.The original point cloud with more than 12 million points were thinned in GM to around 7000 points. Challenges regarding the projection to use for the export of the data was also resolved and the integration into MM was seamless. Other GM functionality also proved usefull for site inspection and terrain analysis - e.g. the Path Profile tool.
